Why Art Matters

This blog is a forum for the writer (me) to write about why certain artists matter, or more exactly, why their work matters. When I say artist, I more accurately mean fiction writers and rock musicians, with no more than occasional exceptions, I imagine. Anyway, this is just supposed to be some reasonably thoughtful if not especially groundbreaking writing about other people's writing and music. Enjoy, I hope.
